Equality should prevail with water restrictors

"The public should have been better advised and given information about the significance of the red, yellow or red painted dots on the water meter covers."

EDITOR – Being a water conservationist and environmentally-friendly person, I do not have a problem with the installation of restrictors but do believe that they should be fitted to all homes.

As we all know we live in a democracy, and equality should prevail and not just to a selected few as mentioned on the web notice which I happened to see when I was looking to see if there was any information on the effects of restrictors on high-pressure geysers and automatic machines.

I do feel that the public should have been better advised and given information about the significance of the red, yellow or red painted dots on the water meter covers; what, if any, problems can be experienced with high pressure geysers and automatic washing machines, and is there any advice as to how to deal with any consequential problems? If there are many complaints of machines or geysers failing, then should the responsibility of the cost of replacements be passed to those implementing the restrictors?
