Westville residents urged to attend service delivery meeting

The meeting will identify the issues which are of concern to residents and ratepayers in Westville.

LOCAL councillors, Bruce Sutcliffe and Warren Burne, will host the next service delivery report back meeting for residents and ratepayers of Westville and Cowies Hill at the Westville Civic Centre hall on Wednesday, 4 May at 7am.

According to Waren Burne, the DA PR Councillor with allocated responsibility for Ward 23, Ward 24 and Ward 92, the meeting will be a sequel to the three meetings which they hosted in May, August and November 2015.

“The meeting will follow the same format as the three report-back meetings which we hosted last year. As far as possible, we will try to identify the issues which are of concern to residents and ratepayers in advance,” said Burne.

Residents and ratepayers who would like certain matters discussed at the meeting are requested to send details of the issues, to Sutcliffe or Burne, and they will request the relevant officials from the departments concerned to attend the meeting to convey the department’s views and action plans on the issues raised.

“Where officials are unable to attend, Bruce and I will report accordingly,” added Burne.

A detailed agenda will be compiled for the meeting. Issues will also be allowed to be raised from the floor. The meeting will be chaired by an independent person elected by the meeting and minutes will be taken.

“The overall objective is to have an interactive meeting between municipal officials and residents and ratepayers, with Bruce and myself as the facilitators (and the agents for further follow-up),” said Burne.

You can send your issues and concerns to warrenburnecllr@gmail.com.
