Hikes hosted by the Durban Ramblers Hiking Club.

Westville Trails – Saturday, 16 April Grading 1 – Easy. A walk around the newly created Westville trail. Meet and park at 1.45pm at the Westville country Club, 1 Link Road. A R20 donation to the Westville Conservancy. Contact Linda on 083 353 8319.

Assagay Coffee Farm – Sunday, 17 April

Grading 3 – moderate. Distance about 15km. Hike over rolling hills, through cane and across grasslands in the upper Sterkspruit Valley. Meet at Union Main Centre, 45 Old Main Road, Pinetown, in time for a prompt 8am departure and drive in convoy to the hike start at Coffee Farm No.21, D157, Cato Ridge. Take money for coffee/ cakes at the farm at end of hike, alternatively please arrange a donation (suggest R10) to the farm for use of facilities. Monteseel – Saturday, 23 April

Grading 2 – moderate. Down into the Valley of a 1000 Hills and back. Some cliff edges and boulder hopping, fitness required. Meet at 1.45pm at the Hacienda Pub in St Andries Street, Monteseel. Drinks afterwards at the Hacienda Pub. Donation of R20 to the Monteseel Conservancy. Vertigo warning. Contact Linda on 083 353 8319.

Kirk Falls -Sunday, 24 April

Grading 3/4 – moderate to strenuous. Distance about 18km. Walk over undulating hills down to Deville Wood Station from the opposite side, through the tunnels to Kirk Falls (near Shongweni). Meet at 8am at Union Main Centre, 45 Old Main Rd, Pinetown or at 8.15am at Assagay Hotel, from where the drive will be in convoy to the parking. Note: Not the normal Deville Wood hike. Saurus Pools, KKNR – Saturday, 30 April

Grading 3 – strenuous. Walk down to Saurus Pools (Splash Rock) of Krantzkloof Nature Reserve and back up again. Meet at 1.45pm at Uve Road Car Park. R25 entrance fee, vertigo warning. Contact Ann on 083 666 5630.
