Celebrate music, food and freedom at Shongweni Market

Don’t miss what promises to be a great day out for the whole family.

A FANTASTIC line-up of live music, good food and chilled vibes will be showcased at the Shongweni Farmer’s and Craft Market on Freedom Day, Wednesday, 27 April.

The vent runs from 10am to 6pm, and the line-up includes Pretoria acoustic folk rock duo Bad Peter, as well as the fresh sound and harmonies of Simpl3 Stori3s, a vocally-driven Bloemfontein band.

Also on the bill are Durban favourites, The Kickstands, Phillip Taylor, Tyler D’s and Woodshed, a newly formed duo featuring singer-songwriter-guitarist John Ellis (Tree63) and drummer, Bruce Baker (Landscape Prayers/Squeal).

On the food front, there will be a wide variety of stalls offering delicious artisan fare and great local craft beer, as well as a ‘buy-and-braai’ station run by qualified chefs. The venue also offers a kids’ zone, a select range of beautiful craft stalls, large covered hangars for both shade and shelter plus lush grassed areas and stunning views of Kirk Falls.

Advance tickets cost R70 for adults and R30 for children under 12. These are available through Computicket and at the Shongweni Market every Saturday leading up to the event. Tickets will also be sold at the gate on the day – adults pay R100 and children R30 each.

Gates open at 9am. No food, beverages or chairs may be brought into the venue. Blankets are welcome.
