Passenger dies in head-on collision
A fatal crash between a minibus taxi and bakkie on Richmond Road this morning claimed one life and left 15 people injured.
ONE passenger was killed and 15 others injured when the taxi in which they were travelling collided head-on with a bakkie on Richmond Road this morning.
According toe Netcare 911’s Chris Botha, the cause of the crash is not known. A number of emergency services personnel attended the scene to help the injured and those trapped in the wreckage.
“Paramedics, the fire department and the provincial medical services arrived and found that a man who had been sitting in the front row of the taxi tragically died due to the severe injuries he sustained”.
” There were several other patients injured. One woman was in a critical condition. A total of 15 patients were injured,” he said, adding that the injured were treated and then transported to hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
