Children collect 14 bags of litter at local sports club

The Easter egg hunt afterwards was the reward for their hard work.

NEW Germany residents collected 14 bags of litter at the planned children’s clean-up and Easter egg hunt at New Germany Civic Centre on Saturday, 19 March.

The clean-up took place on the field adjoining the Civic Centre and was under strict adult supervision.

Once all the litter was collected, the children searched for Easter eggs that the Easter bunny brought for them during an Easter egg hunt in the gardens of the New Germany Sports Club.

This event was organised by Cathy Enslin, who believes that by participating in the clean-up, children can learn a great deal about caring for the environment.

The Easter egg hunt afterwards was the reward for their hard work. The children also received ice -cream cones and cooldrink from Pam Pillay of the New Germany Sports Club.

Cathy thanked Knowles SPAR store for their generous donation of Easter eggs as well as Westville SuperSPAR and Pam Pillay of New Germany Sports Club for their support.

The excess eggs will be donated to Pinetown charities, such as Hope House and Ethelbert Children’s Home.
