Donation boosts Hillcrest Rotary’s projects

In collaboration with five SPAR stores in the upper Highway and the Kearsney Striders, R95 000 was raised for the NPO.

THE Kearsney Striders, in partnership with five SPAR stores in the upper Highway area, donated R95 000 to the Rotary Club of Hillcrest on Monday, 29 February.

The Kearsney Striders hosted a charity run on Sunday, 24 January with the 21km and 10km run/walks road races taking place on the grounds of Kearsney College. The aim was to rasie R50 000 for charity. The five SPAR stores that sponsored the event are Waterfall SuperSPAR, Richdens SuperSPAR, Village Mall SuperSPAR, 1 000 Hills SPAR and Hillcrest KwikSPAR.

“Well done to Kearsney Striders and thank you to them and the SPAR stores in the upper Highway area for the donation to the Rotary Club of Hillcrest. The funds will be used help the underprivileged in the area,” said Fred Kroomer, president of the Rotary Club of Hillcrest.
