DA gets to know residents while canvassing

Residents are reminded to ensure they are registered in the area they live in, as they cannot vote at any other station but the one they are registered in.

THE Democratic Alliance has been getting to know voters in Queensburgh through various activities, including doing door-to-door canvassing as well as setting up regular information tables with the aim of gathering voters’ details for records and stats.

Recently, Arthur Bright, an aspirant candidate, sponsored two lucky draw prizes to shoppers who filled out canvassing sheets at Pick n Pay in Malvern. Residents were also informed about the forthcoming local government elections in respect of being registered in the correct voting district.

Residents filled in canvassing forms with their contact details, whereby they could be informed via SMS of the upcoming open registration days due in March 2016, and also as a reminder to vote when the local elections take place. Dates are yet to be announced.

Residents are reminded to ensure they are registered in the area they live in, as they cannot vote at any other station but the one they are registered in. To check your voter registration details, SMS your ID number to 32810 (R1 per SMS).
