Skiers start on a high note

The KZN Water Skiing Federation had the first mini league for the year, at Thornlea Dam.

AFTER a long Christmas break, on Sunday, 7 February, the KZN Water Skiing Federation had the first mini league for the year, at Thornlea Dam.

The federation thanked Eric Cornhill and the Thornlea homeowners for hosting, JJ van der Merwe for the use of his boat and to all the judges, drivers and other helpers.

“A big thank you to Andrew Silver and Elvin and the Sutton family for sponsoring some wonderful prizes, it was great to have prizes for first, second and third places.

Well done to everyone who skied, it was lovely to see some new faces, and some good skiing,” said Carol Lowe, KZN Water Skiing secretary.

Number of Skiers: 21. Super league winner: Dylan Lowe. Super league runner up: Tristan Silver. Qualifying league winner: JJ van der Merwe. Qualifying league runner Up: Giorgia Vorster. League winner: Jade Starr. Mini league winner: Kevin Meyer. Mini league runner up: Sarah Lloyd. Most improved: Shea Sutton (6 buoy improvement), Bolt head trophy: effort/enthusiasm: Jack Lloyd (grit and determination), Upgrades: Sarah Lloyd will move from Mini League to League.
