Public is urged to keep records of valuable items

Help speed up investigations.

POLICE in the eThekwini inner and outer west region would like to urge the public to keep records of their valuable items.

During the cases of robberies, house robberies and house break-ins, items such as cellphones, house appliances and jewellery are taken by criminals. Owners of cellphones are requested to keep records of IMEI numbers as well as serial numbers for house appliances. Jewellery owners should keep photos of their jewellery.

Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Lt Bongumusa Manqele, said, “This could speed up the investigation of cases.” The owners of items could be traced if goods are recovered.
