Men and women in blue honoured

The National Excellence Awards was aimed at recognizing and rewarding excellent performance.

THE eThekwini Inner and Outer West Region celebrated National Police Day by hosting the Excellence Awards at the Pinetown Civic Hall on Wednesday, 27 January.

The day remembers the sacrifices that the men and women in blue have made and continue to make as they provide safety for all who live in South Africa.

The hosting of the National Excellence Awards was aimed at recognizing and rewarding excellent performance, thereby improving service delivery and morale amongst employees at all levels and the SAPS.

Administration employee of the year Levels 1-7 was won by PPO Comfort Gcuma from Umsunduzi police station, Administration employee of the year Levels 8-12 was won by Captain Lokkie Van Straaten from Pinetown police station, Visible policing employee of the year Levels 1-7 was won by Constable Nkosiyazi Mntungwa from Kwa-Dabeka police station, Visible policing employee of the year Levels 8- 12 was won by Lieutenant Raymond Jali from Pinetown police station, Detectives employee of the year Levels 1-7 was won by Nceba Khuyana from Pinetown police station, Detectives employee of the year Levels 8-12 was won by Captain Samuel Ngcobo from Pinetown police station and CPF of the year was won by Westville Police station.

The Acting Cluster Commander of EThekwini Inner and Outer West Brigadier Marius Janse Van Rensburg thanked all the recipients and he also encouraged them to continue doing good work for the police.
