UPDATE: Upturned hull expected to reach Cape Town port today
The Peridot is towing the upturned catamaran to Cape Town habour.
FAMILIES of the three missing catamaran crew wait in anticipation to greet the tug boat, Peridot, today.
According to a post on the Searching for Anthony, Reg and Jaryd Facebook page earlier this morning, Leigh Metcalf Aldrich wrote: “Our thoughts and prayers are with you Lisa, Paul, Nicole, Trevor and the families of Reg and Anthony as you wait in anticipation this morning to greet the Peridot (‘The stone of healing’) as it brings the yacht home to Cape Town. May the Lord give you the much-needed strength. All our love Leigh and Nico Aldrich.”
However, unconfirmed reports revealed that the Peridot experienced a problem with the tow rope and seemed to be getting further away. Search patterns show the Peridot tracks moving forward and then back.
