Deafening ‘bombs’ unnerve Pinelands neighbourhood

"Neighbourhood watch officials should be given authority to do citizen arrests when a law is passed about the loud bangs being illegal."

EDITOR – Yes, this New Year’s crackers were one of the worse yet. My windows rattled with the huge “bombs” that were being set off. Even with my dogs tranquilised they were hyperventilating.

To a few houses in Pinelands, I would like to say do you not take your neighbours into consideration? Your houses were under grey smoke from your ‘bombs’ being let off.

How can we be good neighbours when you are so inconsiderate? One can have a good time without the deafening noises.

We can go on and on about fireworks…it is still the irresponsible people that will not listen. Can our Neighbourhood Watch officials be given to authority to do citizens’ arrests when a law is passed about the loud bangs being illegal, yet these are not adhered to, especially when one knows beyond a doubt who the culprits are?

Something serious needs to be done about this behavior.

Sick and tired
