Alleged remote jammers arrested in Hillcrest

The two men were found with the car that was involved in committing the crime.

TWO men, aged 21 and 27, were arrested for theft out of a motor vehicle, which took place at Christian Village Centre on Thursday.

Hillcrest SAPS communications officer, Cst Ndumiso Manqele, said it is alleged that the complainant parked her car at the centre in Hillcrest and went shopping. “She returned to her car a few minutes later and drove off. She noticed that her bag was missing when she got to her house and opened the boot.”

The victim suspected that someone had used a remote jamming device.

The case was reported to the Hillcrest SAPS and the two men were arrested when they were found in possession of the car involved in committing the crime.

Manqele urged all motorists to always physically check their car that is properly locked.
