Taxi owner killed in Ashley

The chairman of the Maphumulo Taxi Association was shot and killed at his home in Ashley.

A 54-YEAR-OLD taxi owner was shot and killed at his home in Ashley on Thursday morning.

Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Cst Phindile Radebe, said it is alleged that the deceased was in the garage of his house when he was shot.

“The family heard gunshots outside the house and after few minute they went out to investigate. They found the deceased lying in the pool of blood with one wound to the back of his head and one to his back.

Radebe said the deceased was the chairman of Maphumulo Taxi Association.

“The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage and the murderers are at large,” she said. A case of murder has been opened at Pinetown SAPS.
