A 51-YEAR-old man was robbed by four men of $3 000 outside a car dealership in Pinetown on Tuesday.
According to Lt Bongumusa Manqele, Pinetown SAPS communications officer, it is alleged that the victim had just parked his car and was about to walk out when two men approached him.
“One man pointed a gun at him and robbed him of the cash.
“Two other men, who were wearing balaclavas, jumped out from the back seat of a white VW Polo Playa, one in possession of a rifle.”
Manqele added that it is alleged that the robbers fired two shots before leaving the scene in their vehicle and denied reports that two security guards were shot.
A case of armed robbery has been opened for further investigation.
