Truck tyre lands in Caversham garden
The family suspects that the tyre fell out of a moving truck from the freeway.
THE Caversham family is confused by a truck tyre which landed on their premises on Friday, 25 September.
Patience Mbonisi said they heard a big noise and went to look what it was, and discovered the tyre lying on the premises.
“We believe that it might have been from a truck as we live close to the N3,” she said
Mbonisi said it still a mystery how it landed in their yard as there are trees and a stream that should have been able to block it.
“We suspect that the tyre fell out of a moving truck after reading a story in the Highway Mail, Friday, 25 September of three people that were injured when a truck travelling on the N3 south-bound lost a tyre, which rolled into the north-north-bound carriageway and collided with a vehicle.
“We do not think that it the same tyre as that incident happened on Tuesday, 22 September near Paradise Valley,” said Mbonisi.
The Nzimande family appeals to the owner/owners of the tyre to fetch it as it is still in good condition. Anyone who might know any information about the tyre can contact the Highway Mail offices.
