Highway College karate pro off to India

The Games are going to be held in New Delhi.

Duane Scharneck, a pupil at Highway College, has been selected to represent South Africa at the eighth Commonwealth Karate Games to be held in New Delhi, India.

Duane received his junior first dan black belt in 2014. He has not only represented KZN over the last six years, but has also represented South African for the past two years.

Duane recently represented KZN in a competition that took place in Johannesburg, and was placed third in zone six.

“Highway College wishes Duane and the rest of South African team all the best as they make their final preparations,” said Ruth Brophy from Highway College.
