Key Motors spoils Embo pupils

The créche is also supported by the Twinkle Star Foundation.

EMBO Child Educare was the lucky recipient of a donation from Pinetown Key Motors. Some of the staff from Key Motors visited the créche last Wednesday to presented the cheque.

They took biscuits, coated them with icing sugar and made a beautiful message, which was dedicated to the Springboks. The children were treated to lunch and snacks and there was a lion mascot present, who entertained and played with the children.

The donation was made under the auspices of the Key Cares Foundation, which was launched in 2006. Each director at each Key branch is tasked with nominating a personal charity or beneficiary organisation.

“The charity organisation had to be meaningful to the director and his/her team members, as well as being relevant to the community,” he said.

Embo Child Educare was started by Eunice Mncube, who saw a need for a crèche in the area, and she looks after the needy Embo Valley children.

Parts and operation director, Gary Dennissen, said this was a continuation of his efforts as this was not his first time being involved with the foundation.

“I donated to them again this year because I wanted to see their development since my last visit. What I appreciate about the créche is that they take care of their premises, and Eunice and her team really do a good job with the children.

“The number of children attending the créche has grown since last year from 50 to 80, so I believe they need all the help they can get to continue the wonderful job they do.”

The créche is also supported by the Twinkle Star Foundation, which built proper infrastructure for the children. They had initially been housed in a church.
