Miss 1000 Hills inspires young women

Event organisers are hoping to run this event three times a year, every year, in different places.

THE FIRST annual Miss 1000 Hills was hosted at Ebher Hall in Embo on Saturday, 29 August. Fourteen young women vied for the title of Miss 1000 Hills.

The event’s organiser, Sanele Gasa said he saw potential in all the contestants and hoped to inspire them to not give up in their dreams of modelling. “This was our first event. We hope to organise these events three times a year, every year, in different places. Hopefully we will inspire more young women in the pursuit of their dreams,” he said.

The judging panel was made up of Miss SA 2006, Megan Coleman, Mr Elangeni 2012, Cosmos Shezi and holder of five various pageant titles, Nombuso Mtshali, all of whom shared their pageant experience with the contestants.

Palesa Lisa Mchunu was crowned second princess 1000 Hills 2015, while Andile Mncube bagged the first princess crown and the winner of the coveted title went to Samukelisiwe Malikane.

Winners received gifts which included gift vouchers, money, necklaces and a hamper.
