St Mary’s choir make top ten SingWithUs finals

St Mary's DSG senior primary choir are delighted to make top ten.

St Mary’s DSG senior primary choir has made the Woolworths top ten finalists in the MySchool SingWithUs competition.

Judges, Jon Savage, Katlego Maboe and Theo Crous, had the tough task of whittling down almost 200 entries from primary and high schools nationwide before finalising the top 10.

Grammy Award-winning musician, record producer and philanthropist, Pharrell Williams, will decide on the ultimate winning group and will announce his decision on 26 August.

Woolworths is hosting a private Pharrell concert for its WRewards customers in September, and the winning singing group will perform on stage with him, as well as win a grand cash prize of R100 000 for their school.

The second and third prizes are R50 000 and R25 000 respectively.

“We are extremely excited that out of 200 national entries, our choir was placed in the top 10. The girls are delighted with their achievement and have thoroughly enjoyed imparting such a positive and uplifting message through our Happy Song,” said Mrs Kari Harris, the Senior Primary choir teacher.
