A man was killed after being shot multiple times on Friday afternoon on Westmead Road in Pinetown.

According to ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring, paramedics, along with other services, responded to the scene and on arrival found the body of a man lying next to a bakkie.

The man, believed to be in his 60s, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and back.

“On assessment paramedics found that the man had unfortunately already succumbed to his injuries,” said Meiring

The cause of the shooting was not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
