A fête you don’t want to miss
As usual, the entertainment will include something new and exciting.
The Browns School will host its annual fête on 5 September. This is a great opportunity for lots of fun to be had and for shopping for all sorts of goodies. There will be live music all day and an amazing range of fresh food, including the famous Strawberry Bar, Nando’s chicken burgers, pancakes, braaied steak rolls, boerie rolls, bacon and egg rolls, hamburgers, breyani (including a veggie one), samoosas, home-made cakes and sweets, popcorn, candy floss, hot dogs, a coffee bar and ice cream.
The entertainment always includes something new and exciting and we will have all the favourites as well: the disco ball, velcro wall, air mountain, zorb balls, a giant slide, bungee trampolines, the rocket, paintball target shooting, a fire engine, a ferris wheel, the bottle bash, sumo wrestling, ride the water barrels, foefie slide, the space gyro, mechanical swings, games, face painting, smartie balls and more.
Don’t miss all the exciting stalls: boutique (new clothes), tombola, Farmer Brown’s fresh produce, car parts, plants, books, second-time-around, needlework, toys and crafts and an auction at 10:30am. There will also be a limited trade fair/flea market.
“We would also be so grateful for any contributions – do a clear-out and send in usable items, such as books, toys, kitchenware, crockery, arts and crafts, knitting wool, appliances and furniture (working), stationery or anything else you think may be useful. Please do not send magazines, old computers, broken things or jumble,” said Jane Noble, income development director for Browns School.
The school also needs people to help make cakes or biscuits, sweets, needlework or crafts. “Please also start cultivating a few plants for us now,” Noble added.
