WSP reaches out to Muscular Dystrophy Foundation

The community is encouraged to support a worthy initiative that will contribute to the work done by the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.

THE Muscular Dystrophy Foundation (MDF) recently received a donation of R3 318 from Westville Senior Primary School, which was raised at the school’s annual civvies day. To add to the school’s support to the foundation, a parent, Nolan Southey, has offered to donate 10 per cent of the turnover that he makes at his restaurants to the MDF.

“On the evening of 2 July, 10 per cent of the turnover that we make at Navaho Springs Spur (Waterfall), Eldorado Spur (Hillcrest), Grand Canyon Spur (Pinetown) and John Dory’s in Waterfall, will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation,” said Southey.

The foundation supports individuals affected with muscular dystrophy and their families by offering emotional support, information, referrals to genetic counselling and other clinics, formation of support groups and assistance with special equipment when possible. The MDF relies solely on contributions from its members and other donors to provide an ongoing support service.

Therefore, the community is encouraged to support this initiative which will contribute to the funds needed by MDF to continue with their noble work.
