Acclaimed choirs share stage

The concert forms part of the Choral Collisions Series, where the Kearsney choir shares the stage with respected choirs from around the world.

KEARSNEY College choir and the Ragazzi Boys’ Chorus from San Francisco, which is currently touring South Africa, will present a supper theatre performance at the Henderson Hall, Kearsney College in Botha’s Hill on Monday, 15 June at 7pm.

The Ragazzi choir will bring a varied repertoire of light classical and popular choral works, while Kearsney will present their signature vibrant performance with a mix of classical, pop and folklore music.

Visitors are encouraged to take along their own food and drinks, but a cash bar will be available. Tickets range from R45 to R110 and booking is through Computicket on 0861 915 8000.

The first concert was with the University of Pretoria Youth Choir, and the next will take place in August with the Eastern Areas Youth Chorale from Pittsburgh, USA.

Founded in 1987, the Ragazzi Boys’ Chorus is one of the San Francisco Bay area’s premiere music and performance organisations and has toured the United States and internationally. It has more than 190 singers from 86 schools. ‘Ragazzi’ means ‘boys’ in Italian, and is the term used in opera to refer to children’s voices.
