Cyclist injured in hit and run
Local authorities will be investigating a hit-and-run accident which occurred this morning.
A 45-year-old man was treated for moderate injuries this morning when he was hit by a light motor vehicle at the Shepstone and Berkshire Road intersection in New Germany.
According to a media statement issued by ER24, paramedics arrived on scene and found the patient lying on the side of the road with his bicycle a few metres away.
On assessment, paramedics found that the patient has sustained moderate injuries to his face and neck. Paramedics treated and immobilised the patient before transporting him to RK Khan Hospital.
The driver of the light motor vehicle was not found at the scene. The respective authorities were on scene and will be investigating the accident.
