Municipality to help with funeral arrangements

The assistance provided by the municipality will include the hiring of tents and buses

The eThekwini Municipality will assist with the funeral arrangements of two the South Africans who were killed during the recent spate of xenophobic attacks in the province. The deceased, Ayanda Dlamini and Thabo Mzobe, were shot on 9 April and 13 April respectively.

Their families appealed for assistance from the municipality to bear funeral costs. Both families’ requests were approved by the executive committee and the assistance provided by the municipality will include the hiring of tents and buses.

Mayor James Nxumalo expressed condolences to the families of all those who died during the attacks. “We send our heartfelt condolences to the families affected by these tragedies,” he said.
