Help Highway Aged support the elderly

Highway Aged is holding several fundraiser projects to sustain the community-based social work service to the elderly.

SUPPORT Highway Aged’s fundraiser projects and hampers for sale throughout the year.

As part of the fundraising drive, Highway Aged is currently selling its Easter hamper, which comprises a basket of Easter goodies valued at R450 each.

According to Kevin Moodley, general manager for Highway Aged, all individuals and businesses that purchase a hamper will be contributing towards assisting Highway Aged to meet its objective, which is to care for the elderly.

“The purchase of the hamper will also be an allowable deduction for tax purposes, and you will qualify for a Section 18A tax exemption certificate for the financial year and a BEE renewal certificate,” said Moodley.

All purchases are through the office on 031 701 5571, and include free delivery.

Highway Aged is also hosting a Race Day at Greyville Racecourse through Gold Circle on Sunday, 10 May. This is an event whereby Gold Circle allocates an entire day of racing to Highway Aged, to allow them to sell races to businesses and corporates at designated prices. The respective buyer will be able to name the race as per their company name, thereby receiving a wide scale of marketing through all printed racing material nationally and internationally, through Telly Track. The buyer will also be able to take along 10 individuals to have lunch at the Classic Room Restaurant. The deadline for businesses and corporates to purchase races is 7 April.

In addition to the sale of the races, Highway Aged will also be selling tables of 10 at R3 500: you will receive snacks on arrival, a full buffet lunch and tea and cake in the afternoon. The deadline for table bookings is 30 April.

All funds raised from this event will be utilised to sustain Highway Aged’s community-based projects. To book a race or table, contact Kevin Moodley on 082 200 3924 or 031 701 5571.
