Man killed in head on collision
A tanker burst into flames this morning in a head-on collision with an Audi on the M7.
THE horrific crash that occurred during the early hours of this morning, claimed the life of one man, when his Audi collided head on with a tanker on the M7 near the Hans Dettman Highway
Paramedics arrived on the scene around 3am and found the severely mangled Audi. According to ER24, the driver was killed on impact. The tanker was found alight on the opposite side of the highway. The driver of the tanker sustained no injuries.
Bystanders on the scene said that the Audi crashed through the centre median of the highway into oncoming traffic. The tanker apparently dragged the vehicle for several meters before it landed back on the M7 Durban bound.
The tanker burst into flames during the collision.
Various fire and rescue services attended the incident. Local authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
