Boy (5) run over and killed

A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy was killed when he was knocked down on Old Richmond Road in Kwandengezi, close to Mariannhill, on Saturday afternoon.

According to ER24 spokesman, Chitra Bodasing, it is believed the child was hit while crossing the road. “When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found the boy in the oncoming lane about five metres away from where the accident took place. He was assessed. Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for him. He sustained multiple severe injuries. He was declared dead on scene,” said Bodasing.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
