WIN: Zany comedy couple defend the planet

Read more about how five lucky readers can win a pair of tickets to 'Defending the Planet #2'.

SUPER-charged comedy duo, Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert, return in their smash hit take on alien abductions in Defending the Planet # 2, which runs at the UKZN’S Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from 18 February to 15 March.

Written by Susan Monteregge and directed by Darren King, the multi-award-winning Defending the Planet returns after an absence of eight years from the Durban stage, now extensively updated and radically revised but just as whacky as ever.

The story focuses on a self-help group of victims of alien abductions, formed to examine these and other close encounters of various kinds. Typical of McIlroy’s unique comedic style, Defending The Planet #2 discusses the trauma of victims who have been “probed” by aliens.

With off-the-wall characters and an eclectic range of foot-stomping music, suggestions are made as to how one can deal with an “invasion” and how to avoid falling victim to these outlandish creatures. The show is a must-see for anyone who has ever wondered about extra-terrestrial activity and, above all, assures audiences of an entertaining evening of music and laughter.

Performance are Tuesdays to Saturdays at 7.30pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets cost R150 each (students and pensioners pay R120) and are available now through Computicket on 0861 915 8000 or online at www.computicket.com.
