Pinetown SAPS hard work commended
Cst Lembede and Cst Mandla Mkhize from Pinetown SAPS win "Bust of the Month".
TWO Pinetown SAPS police officers, Cst Lembede and Cst Mandla Mkhize, were commended for their diligent work and won “Bust of the Month”.
The two constables received a meal voucher each worth R200, compliments of Nando’s, St Johns.
Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Lt Bongumusa Manqele, said on 21 November, 2014 Lembede and Mkhize were performing their normal duties in Mariannhill Industrial Park near Pinetown when they spotted two suspicious-looking men.
“They stopped the vehicle and searched the men. They found a 9mm pistol with ammunition in a food container in possession of one of the men.
“The man was immediately placed under arrest and charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition,” said Manqele.
The suspect later appeared in court and is due in the dock on 2 February.
