EDITOR – I have just recently got home from a four-day stay in the orthopaedic ward 1 in Entabeni Hospital, having had surgery on my leg. The time I was dreading became a time of such good treatment that I just had to share my experience.
Every doctor, as well as theatre, nursing, cleaning and catering staff who I came into contact with carried out their jobs with pride.
From the theatre sister who stroked my hair back while the anaesthetic was being administered, to sisters Ronel, Faye, Winnie and others whose names I do not remember, they were professional, competent and caring. The meals were tasty and nourishing.
