Sporty end for Tekel Academy

The students from the academy took part in soccer and netball games before they were treated to a delicious year-end lunch.

THE students at the Tekel United Academy in Mariannridge were treated to an exciting year end function that was filled with soccer and netball games and a delicious lunch.

An offshoot of the Christian Assemblies, 56 Carina Road in Mariannridge, the Academy first hosted a round of soccer games which were followed by netball games. They were then treated to a show by a few talented drum majorettes before making their way to the church hall.

The awards ceremony commenced with a prayer and the Tekel Zulu Dance was the second item on the entertainment programme. Once all of the awards were handed out, the youth choir sang and the group of children were treated to a sumptuous and healthy lunch. “It was a very successful day and fun was had by all that took part. A big thank you must be given to the sponsors on the day,” said Sammy Louw, a pastor at the church.
