Man critically injured in taxi accident

The man was airlifted to the King Edward Hospital after he was stabalised by paramedics at the scene.

A 24-YEAR-OLD man is fighting for his life after after he was hit by a taxi at the intersection of Lauth Road and Crompton Street this morning (Monday 1 December).

According to Russel Meiring, the spokesman for ER24, paramedics arrived on scene and found the man in critical condition on the side of the road.

They found the man had severe injuries to his head, chest and legs. Once he was stabilised using advanced life support, he was airlifted by a medical helicopter to King Edward Hospital for  treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but the local SAPS were on scene and will be investigating.
