Car crushed by truck, woman killed
A woman died when a large truck crashed onto her car on the M13.
AN elderly woman was killed this morning (Friday, 28 November) when her vehicle was crushed beneath a truck on the M13 near Hillcrest.
ER24 paramedics said they arrived on scene and found the road blocked by a large truck that lay on its side. A light motor vehicle was crushed beneath the truck and crane attachment.
“On assessment, paramedics found that an elderly woman lay trapped within her vehicle. Unfortunately, she had already succumbed to her injuries,” said ER24 spokesman, Russel Meiring.
Rescue services were on scene to extricate the woman’s body from the vehicle. The cause of the collision is not yet known, but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
Meiring said it is believed the two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions.
