Beauty queen scoops two titles

Westville Girls' High School's, Shona Clarke, won the Miss SA Schools 2014 and the Miss Summer Heat Teen Model of the Year titles.

WESTVILLE lass, Shona Clarke, scoops two pageant titles in one week.

Shona participated in Miss Summer Heat Teen Model of the Year 2014 at Gold Reef City Convention Centre from Tuesday 14 to Thursday 16 October. She competed in the 13 to 17 years category for Model of the Year 2014 and was crowned Miss Summer Heat Teen Model of the Year, believing that hard work does pay off.

The Westville Girls’ High School pupil was also crowned Miss SA Schools 2014 on 18 October.

The 14-year-old was one of the 32 finalist selected to represent her school at national level, not to mention the only girl to make it from KZN.

All the finalists were required to start a community project in their area to uplift the youth of South Africa. At the finals, the finalists had to present their community project to the judges in Pretoria as well be an ambassador for their school. Shona had to convince the judges that Westville Girls’ High School is the best school. She also had to design her school flag/logo and present it to the judges and audience on the day of the finals.

Shona not only won Miss SA Schools 2014, but she also walked away with the following awards – best interview, best school ambassador and the audience choice award.

She thanked God for blessing her with these titles, which will create a platform for her to go out and uplift her community. Shona sends a special thank you to her family, friends and coach for all their time, assistance and support in the pageants.
