Pavilion Management said that this was in the interest of customer safety and security, as the license plate recognition system which recognises the car number plate and prints it on parking tickets will be in operation in all pay parking areas. On departure, the system cross checks to ensure that the number plate printed on the parking ticket corresponds with the car number plate prior to opening the boom. If they don’t match, the boom gate will not open.

  1. An hour free parking would be better because it sometimes takes a half hour to find a parking space

  2. Interesting how safety and security is used as a reason, the licence plate recognition which is currently installed does not work and it is suppose to open automatically when you exit which means anyone can leave with your vehicle.
