KwaDabeka marches on child abduction claims

KwaDabeka residents respond to news of alleged child kidnappings by taking to the streets in protest.

KwaDabeka residents took to the streets in protest on Thursday morning, spurred into action by the alleged abduction of three children from a local school on Wednesday.

The group reportedly marched to KwaDabeka Police Station amidst claims that another child had gone missing on Thursday morning.

This comes SAPS have issued a warning to the public about rumours of child abductions circulating in the Umlazi area and surrounding townships.

All of this during Child Protection Week, a campaign which aims to mobilise all sectors of society to ensure the care and protection of children.

The message also urged  community members to remain calm, and asked parents to ensure that their children be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
