Embo fights poverty

A skills development NPO appeals for funding.

EMBOCRAFT Training Centre Trust in Botha’s Hill is appealing to businesses and residents to assist the non-profit organisation (NPO) by donating funds to its worthy cause.

The NPO offers various skills training and development courses to help alleviate poverty. The courses are designed to teach the students to become self sufficient in terms of providing for themselves and their family.

“We welcome any donations, and we also urge residents to visit the centre and buy some of the crafts that are on sale, every bit of income is appreciated,” said Linda Venton, the coordinator at the centre.

Some of the courses offered by the centre includes a sewing course, which is hosted over a period of 15 days, a welding course, which lasts two and a half weeks and a week long basic computer literacy skills course.

“The welding course is always in need of funding, as the lessons are a bit more expensive than the others,” said Venton.

Residents are also encouraged to support the Embocraft Flea Market, which will be held on Sunday 6 April. Contact Linda Venton on 084 606 5088.
