“Taking place across three cities on National Women’s Day, each event will feature two fantastic routes, a 5km and 10km, making it accessible to a larger audience. Whether you run it or walk it, the decision is yours, as long as you have a fantastic experience.

“Runners in Durban will be happy to hear that the Totalsports Women’s Race Durban route is fast and flat,” said Meyer.

“The 10km route will include Snell Parade, the Promenade and Estuary Pathway. Iconic landmarks to look out for will be the Moses Mabhida Stadium and scenic beach, sea and river estuary views. Similar to the 10km route, the 5km will also ensure a memorable experience but won’t include the Promenade and Estuary Path.”

He added that they cannot wait to see an ‘ocean of pink’ take over the streets of Durban on National Women’s Day.

Singer and songwriter Holly Rey will serenade thousands of runners and walkers on National Women’s Day at the Totalsports Women’s Race in Durban.

“Entries are filling up fast, so enter today to be part of the action and #DoWhatMovesYou with Totalsports and PinkDrive.”

Spectacular on-route activations by event partners and sponsors, including Totalsports, Absa, Nike, Coca Cola, Chery, and several others, await runners and walkers in each of the three cities.

“We encourage all participants to be a force for good by supporting Absa to raise funds and donate to the communities in which we operate, by simply joining Team Absa Walk/Run on Strava and logging kilometres walked or run. For every 1km ran/walked, Absa will donate R1 towards a worthy cause in the local community,” said Absa’s Group chief marketing and corporate affairs officer, Sydney Mbhele.

The race will start at Masabalala Yengwa Avenue and finish at Kings Park Athletics Track.

Each entrant will receive a fitted event T-shirt and finisher’s medal while getting to enjoy an entertaining route with vibrant refreshment points and a live performance at the finish.
