Players kick up a storm in soccer tourney

The tournament held on the weekend of April 15 and 16, at Forest Hills Sports Club, was two days of fun and fast-paced football.

THE Oxford Forest Hills Five-a-Side Tournament was the perfect start to kick off the 2023 season as 111 teams played on the weekend of April 15 and 16.

The Forest Hills sports field was abuzz with activities as the young footballers competed for the trophies. Hosted by Dave Guselli from East Coast Gold, the players brought their ‘A’ game while the crowds cheered for their teams.

Forest Hills Football Club chairman, Russel Steele, said the weekend was a huge success and the turnout was amazing.

“It was a great weekend for the children, families and supporters. There were clubs from across the greater Durban area, and I think that we really put on a good show for all. The level of the football was incredible!

“Forest Hills Football Club also wishes to thank our sponsor, Oxford Freshmarket, as well as MD Tool Hire and Building Supplies, Waterfall, and Talisman Hire, for their sponsorship. We are very grateful,” said Steele.

The tournament will be an annual event, and the committee are already preparing for an even bigger and better event next year.
