Blind cricket tournament for Durban in October

Six to eight matches will be played daily at venues around the city. Don't miss the action as the players vie for a place in the national squad due to travel to India in December.

DURBAN will soon host the best provincial teams of visually impaired cricketers for a national tournament.

The fifth edition of Blind Cricket South Africa (BCSA) T20 National Tournament starts on October 2, running until October 6. With between six to eight matches played daily at various venues around the city, the pressure will be on for the nine provincial teams to put their best foot forward.

Other than glory for the winners, players are competing for a position in the Blind Proteas team that will be preparing for the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, due to take place in India in December. A training camp for the successful athletes will be held following the tournament.

The nine provincial teams include – Border Lions, Boland, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo Novus, Northerns, North West (first-time entrants), Western Province and defending champions Central Gauteng Lions.
