Man found dead in vehicle in swimming pool

A car was found submerged under water in a swimming pool this morning.

The deceased driver of a vehicle that was found turned upside down in a swimming pool in Westville has not been identified yet.  Early this morning, Redline Response reported that they arrived on the scene to find the vehicle submerged under the water with the occupant showing no signs of life.

“It has been found that the driver, believed to be in his early 40s, was declared dead on scene due to injuries he might have sustained. It is unclear how long the vehicle was inside the water. It was reported that neighbours heard a loud noise around 00:30 this morning but couldn’t figure out where it was from,” they said.

Metro Police and SAPS Search and Rescue were on the scene.
