WATCH: Support Kloof and Highway SPCA Dog Box Challenge

Money raised from the Dog Box challenge will be used in the Kloof and Highway SPCA’s ongoing fight against the prevention of cruelty to all animals.

THIRTY-NINE brave participants will take on the annual Kloof and Highway SPCA Dog Box Challenge.

For 24 hours, the participants will be ‘locked up’ in the kennels at the SPCA with an aim to raise R10 000 each.

The fundraiser will take place from Friday, May 27 to Saturday, May 28.

To show your support, visit the participants on Friday evening in the kennels and enjoy an ice-cold gin and tonic or craft beer, some delicious curry, and decadent cupcakes – all of which will be on sale.

In addition, there will be fiery entertainment from Gareth Greaves and Kimona Kisten at 18:00 in the kennel area.

Brigitte Ferguson, Kloof and Highway SPCA public relations officer, said this year they will be dedicating the Dog Box Challenge to the many animals who lost their lives or who were severely affected by the KZN Floods.

“The Kloof and Highway SPCA will continue to support and assist all those who still require our help. During the aftermath of the KZN floods, our inspectorate team went out daily, and we were able to distribute over a ton of food, blankets, beds and water to badly affected areas.

“We are committed to being actively involved in outreach. We look forward to welcoming the public on Friday to visit the inmates in our kennels. Funds raised will help us continue the fight against animal cruelty.”

Anyone who would like to donate can contact Brigitte on 031 764 1212 or email marketing@kloofspca.co.za. Strict Covid-19 regulations will be followed, and social distancing will be applied.
