“All counts to run concurrently,” said Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Captain Bongumusa Manqele.

The body of SIphumelele Mzimba was found in a bush in Nazareth on July 4, 2019.

Siphumelele was reported missing after she went to a hairdresser near her home, but never reached her destination. Later that day, her parents received a message demanding a ransom of R20 000.

A few days later, Nsele was arrested in connection with Siphumelele’s disappearance.

Manqele said the Pinetown Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit (FCS) members were busy with their investigation around the suspect’s house when they detected a smell coming from a nearby bush.

“When they went to search, they found the body with her feet tied up. Her dad identified her,” said Manqele.
