WATCH: Injured Black Mamba slithers through Westville road

The Black Mamba was spotted by residents who quickly called Nick Evans.

A LARGE injured Black Mamba, which was spotted crossing Robert Herrick Avenue, earlier today will be taken to a vet tomorrow for x-rays.

The concerned residents who noticed that the snake was injured stopped traffic to avoid further injuries, or it’s death, and called Highway snake catcher, Nick Evans.

Evans said he rushed over with his wife expecting to find a dying mamba.

“Well, to our very pleasant surprise, it looked very lively. I pinned it down quickly. Once I had the head secured, I noticed blood in the mouth and nose. Not a good sign. Still, it’s strong, and still is, a few hours later,” he said.

Evans said he desperately hopes that it does not die.
