New Germany wildlife enthusiast pens first book

The self published book by Chris Davidson is informative, easy to read and a helpful guide for visitors when they explore the Kruger National Park.

NEW Germany resident and former game ranger, Chris Davidson, has compiled all his adventures from the Kruger National Park, into his debut book, Nature’s Ways- Kruger’ virtual field guide.

Davidson grew up in a farm in the eastern Transvaal and went to school in an agricultural school in KwaZulu-Natal.

After school he worked on his father’s dairy farm for eight years, before he and his wife bought their own, which they developed into a trout fishing enterprise.

Davidson was a game ranger for 10 years and loves all things nature and wildlife, and growing up on farm meant he knew plenty about animals and agriculture.

He decided to compile a book based on game and wildlife from the Kruger National Park- one of his favourite places.

“I wrote the book in 2021 after many people requested it on my Facebook blog where I talk a lot about wildlife and the Kruger National Park.”

Davidson received ranger training from the Kruger National Park, and that is where he said his knowledge about wildlife grew.

When asked about his favourite elements at the National Park, diversity of game, the peace and quiet and the ecology were his top picks.

As a ranger, Davidson enjoyed exploring the reserve and going on trails with the park visitors.

The self published book is informative, easy to read and a helpful guide for visitors when they explore the Kruger National Park.

The pictures of birds, insects, wildlife, trees, reptiles featured in the book were taken by Davidson on his many family trips to the national park.
