#16DaysofActivism: Local foundation on a mission to reach GBV victims

Throughout the entire roadshow, the foundation will share daily updates about what it gets up to and its achievements.

THE global movement of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence starts on November 25 to December 10 and the Jes Foord Foundation is on a continuous mission to help and support victims of gender-based violence.

This year, the foundation will partner with the Angels Care Centre and embark on a 16-day #ActivismRoadShow from the Upper Highway area through to Howick.

“Our aim is to reach as many schools as we can along the way – to create awareness about this movement, gender-based violence as a whole, and to reach as many victims as we can in need of our help and support,” said the foundation.

According to the foundation, the campaign is the one time a year that the world shines a spotlight on the biggest issues society fights against on a daily basis.

“There is strength in numbers, and the more individuals we can get on board to participate in and support #16DaysofActivism, the more we can honour this international movement and all of the survivors who it’s geared towards helping,” said the foundation.
