“This is my first national title,” she smiled.

The 19-year-old said she was also passionate about charity work and explained how the title would allow her to lend a helping hand where she could.

She said the modelling industry has created many opportunities for her, such as travelling.

“It’s also a platform to discuss social ills and to educate. Through these pageants, we can also inspire, empower and motivate,” she said.

The Grade 11 learner attends KwaDinabakubo Secondary School in Molweni and said her focus is now on youth and women empowerment.

Nyandeni has a strong belief that there is strength and light in everyone.

“There is always a chance to reignite your passion when it dims. When you reignite it, then you can show it to the world. It is never too late and people should not give up until they have reached their goals and dreams,” said Nyandeni.
